Local Projects
Cru is always looking for ways to help those in the community. We partner with several nonprofit agencies throughout Dekalb County. Come to Cru to for details.
Love Kids?
There are several nonprofit organizations as well as ministries throughout Dekalb that would be a great place to serve for college students who love kids. The opportunities include but are not limited to mentoring, babysitting, and being AWANA leaders. The staff of Cru are also continually looking for trustworthy female college students to help watch their kids. The opportunities range from weekly, monthly, and even one time commitments.
Most of the opportunities require having your own transportation and are non-paid volunteer positions that would be a tremendous blessing to those you help. Contact Brent if you want to help.
Current Needs:
- Second Thursday morning from 9-11am each month (child care for infants and toddlers) at a community wide outreach
- AWANA leader weekly on Wednesday nights 6-8:30
- Second and fourth Monday mornings from 8:45-11am (child care)
- Any night you are available (to watch Brent & Stephanie’s Kids—We love to get out on a date once in a while!)
Relief Trips
Looking to make a real difference in the lives of those who have been struck by tragedy? Cru is continually seeking to help the helpless and to come along side those in need. In past Cru students have traveled to ground zero in the wake of the September 11th tragedy, road tripped down to New Orleans to assist in the rebuilding of a community torn by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, and have even flown across the world to help Tsunami victims. There is no limit to where we will go and there is no reason not to go. As needs arise, we will be the first to respond. Be a part of making a difference.
We tentatively have a trip for November down to New Orleans. Come to Cru for Details.
